The Dorian Scale. The dorian mode is the second mode of the major scale, in other words, playing the dorian is the same as playing a major scale starting at the second note. The finger pattern for the dorian mode is as follows;
In this example we are playing the F# dorian scale, starting at the 2nd
fret of the 6th (low E) string. Black Notes: These positions should be fretted with the first finger.
